From Parades to Policies: Making Inclusion Reality
This year’s Pride celebration in Bacnotan blossomed not only as a jubilant event but as a catalyst for systemic change. The local government unit (LGU), working hand-in-hand with young queer leaders and allies, didn’t just stop at holding parades or dazzling costume competitions. They pushed for structural protection and empowerment by passing the Bacnotan Pride Ordinance, which concretely supports the rights of LGBTQIA+ individuals.
