The opening night was pure enchantment, featuring local trans DJs and spoken word performances that moved the audience to snaps and tears.

At the forefront is Julie Tolentino, our Filipino-Salvadoran performance art queen, whose interdisciplinary genius has graced venues from The Kitchen to the Philippines and even the Thessaloniki Biennale. QUEER | ART Her creations here are inspired by archival elements and movement, boldly challenging conventions with a collaborative spirit that’s supported by renowned institutions like MacDowell and Queer Art Mentorship. She’s actively mentoring young Filipino talents, ensuring the flame burns brightly for the future generation.
Then there’s Diego Torres-Casso, a queer Chicanx visionary who uses photography, video, and mixed media to uncover forgotten stories of tenderness and defiance. Fresh from exhibits in the Czech Republic and Santa Cruz, they’re bringing their socially engaged artistry to Manila, highlighting immigrant resilience that resonates deeply with many of us.
