The magic of queer storytelling

More than 80 LGBTQIA+ artists and entrepreneurs crafted a brave, dazzling space where everyone from starry-eyed teens to titas in rainbow shades could find themselves in a story. Komiket Pride isn’t just a fair, it’s a full-on cultural movement, bursting with original komiks about messy bakla breakups, trans joy, found families, and the wild, wondrous world of Manila drag. Each page is a declaration: “I exist, and my story matters.”

Art as pride, protest, and home

This year, the scene was extra electric. It wasn’t just about buying art, it was about claiming space, sharing narratives, and building chosen family right at the creator’s table. Metro Manila Pride PH even took the stage to amplify solidarity, showing that our stories don’t just entertain, they empower and educate, too. For many artists, every panel drawn or zine sold felt like a gentle rebellion: taking control of the narrative, confronting stereotypes, and making Pride a daily practice, not just a parade.
