Earlier this year, the iconic Ayala Malls The 30th transformed into a lively, welcoming hub where Filipino LGBT+ artists took center stage, their komiks, art, and zines inviting all of us to feel seen, heard, and loved. The energy at Komiket Pride radiated from the stalls groaning with gorgeous prints to the live readings that blended humor and heartache in equal measure. Everywhere you looked, artists shared their soul through lighthearted romance, raw narratives about coming out or family, and dazzling illustrations that say “Proud ako!” in every line and splash of color. Admission was free, making the event accessible to everyone who wanted to support local creators and embrace queer stories, whether as a part of the community or as one of our beloved allies.
