Quezon City Gears Up for Lov3laban 2025 Pride Extravaganza

Quezon City Ready for Lov3laban 2025: Pride March Promises Stories, Solidarity, and Sass

As June approaches, excitement is building in Quezon City for the annual Pride celebration, LOV3LABAN 2025, scheduled for June 28. This year’s event, themed with a playful twist, promises not just a day of pride but a lively protest for equality and inclusivity, echoing the community’s resilience and solidarity.

The event, titled LOV3LABAN 2025, is set to continue the tradition of the Love Laban Pride Festival, which has been a cornerstone of Quezon City’s commitment to LGBTQIA+ rights since 2021. The festival typically features a Pride March, Pride Expo at the Quezon Memorial Circle, and a Food and Art market along Matalino Street, aiming to create a platform where identities are celebrated and rights are amplified throughout the city.

Building on Last Year’s Momentum

Last year’s Pride event, despite being cut short due to severe weather, drew over 228,000 attendees and featured performances by notable artists like Vice Ganda, BINI, and Ben&Ben. However, the event highlighted both the community’s strength and the challenges it faces, including homophobic comments from some attendees, emphasizing the need for continued advocacy and education in the face of adversity.

Netizens have been emphasizing that Pride should remain a protest rather than a concert, underscoring the importance of the event as a platform for advocacy and solidarity within the community.

Community Support Beyond Pride

The Quezon City government has been proactive in supporting the LGBTQIA+ community, hosting commitment ceremonies for queer couples and launching initiatives like the “Right to Care Card” for medical decision-making. This commitment to inclusivity sets a positive precedent for local governance across the Philippines in recognizing and supporting LGBTQ+ rights.

As the community gears up for LOV3LABAN 2025, it is clear that this event will be more than just a celebration, it will be a moment of unity, resilience, and continued advocacy for a more inclusive and equitable society.
