LOV3LABAN 2025: Southeast Asia’s Largest Pride Fills UP Diliman

Rain or shine, nothing could stop the unstoppable, UP Diliman’s sprawling campus transformed into a sea of rainbows, glitter, and pure, unfiltered joy as LOV3LABAN 2025 painted the city with love, music, and fearless resistance. This wasn’t just a party; it was a movement, a statement, and, let’s be real, the hottest, loudest, most unapologetic Pride celebration in Southeast Asia right now. A Celebration That Refused to Be Dampened

Even monsoon rains couldn’t wash away the spirit of Pride. Thousands, yes, thousands, of LGBTQIA+ Filipinos and allies marched, danced, and sang their hearts out, proving that love truly does laban (fight) through every storm“Despite the rain, Pride stood tall at Lov3Laban sa Diliman”. The energy? Electric. The colors? Brighter than a jeepney at high noon. The message? Clear as day: “We’re here, we’re queer, and we’re not going anywhere.”

Star Power and Community Heart

The stage was lit with performances that had the crowd screaming for more. P-pop girl group G22, the “Female Alphas,” brought heat with their anthem “Pa-Pa-Pa-Palaban,” a tribute to brave Filipinas past and present. ALAMAT dropped their hit “Maharani,” VXON turned up the temperature with “sh*t sobrang init,” and Cup of Joe’s Gian and Raphaell serenaded the crowd with “Misteryoso” and “Multo.” And let’s not forget Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee, rocking a cowgirl look and belting out the Pride version of “REYNA”, because why not?

But the real stars? Every single person who showed up, waved a flag, held a sign, or simply stood in solidarity. Former PBB housemate Klarisse De Guzman (a.k.a. the “Nation’s Mowm”) made history by introducing her partner Trina to thousands, sharing a message to queer folks everywhere: “We all deserve to be loved and celebrated.” Cue the tears and cheers.

More Than a Parade, A Call to Action

This Pride wasn’t just about the party (though, let’s be honest, the party was legendary). It was about visibility, safety, and the fight for rights that are still being denied. Vice Ganda, the Unkabogable Star, took the mic and reminded everyone: “Please be seen. We have to be heard, so please be heard. Kailangan natin lumabas, makita, at mabilang dahil ang bilang natin ay kapangyarihan.” Their call to action? Don’t leave anyone behind, privilege is only real if we share it, and rights are only rights if everyone has them.

Organizations like Akbayan Youth joined the march, demanding the long-overdue passage of the SOGIE Equality Bill. Voices rose for the legalization of divorce and thorough sex education, because Pride is protest. Because love is still a fight.

The streets were packed, the energy contagious, and the message crystal clear: the Filipino queer community is active, resilient, and determined to claim its rightful space, not just in the Philippines, but across Southeast Asia and beyond.

The Future is Bright, and It’s Rainbow

As Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte vowed, the government’s commitment to inclusion isn’t just lip service, it’s action, safety, and community. The Pride Expo, Pride Night, and Pride Villages spilled beyond the campus, a living promise: no one left out, no one silenced again.

The festival closed with a fireworks musical, painting the night sky with every color of the rainbow, a fitting end to a day that was, as the Quezon City government put it, “makulay at matagumpay.”
