UP Diliman Gears Up for Lov3Laban Pride Extravaganza

Pride March 2025 Set to Rock UP Diliman with Lov3Laban Festival

The air in Quezon City is charged with anticipation, and the Pride flags are ready to wave high. This Saturday, June 28, the iconic academic oval of the University of the Philippines Diliman will transform into a kaleidoscope of bold color, queer joy, and collective resistance as LOV3LABAN 2025: Pride PH Festival comes home to campus. After drawing a record-breaking crowd of over 250,000 at last year’s festival, organizers, advocates, and allies are going all out to ensure this year’s celebration is bigger, bolder, and safer for everyone.

All eyes on Diliman: Collaboration and commitment

What makes this year’s Lov3Laban special is the deepened collaboration between pillars of queer advocacy: the Quezon City government, UP Diliman, and the Pride PH Coalition. United under a formal Memorandum of Agreement, these partners are pulling every rainbow string to secure a multi-venue, all-day extravaganza, from the Pride March that promises to flood the oval with a sea of love, to the Pride Expo, the after-dark revelry of Pride Night, and four distinct Pride Villages across Quezon City. As Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte shared, “For years, QC has stood as a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, not merely in words but through concrete policies and programs that truly champion gender equality.”

Lov3Laban: More than a party

It’s not just a party, it’s protest, pride, and hope rolled into one. For many Filipino LGBT+ folk, Pride is a lifeline: a moment each year when they can show up, stand tall, and exhale in spaces that are unapologetically, unmistakably theirs. This year’s Lov3Laban 2025 is fiercely committed to safety and visibility, with hundreds of city personnel, traffic marshals, and medical teams ready to make sure every heart beats free and safe on campus. The festival also doubles down on environmental awareness, with Quezon City and Pride PH launching green and sustainable practices, from reusable gear to eco-friendly activities, sending the message that pride is about caring for community and planet alike.

Tara, laban na, Pride is protest, pride is home

For fourth-year student Kian, Pride in UP Diliman is about more than rainbow selfies: “Dito ko unang narinig ang kwento ng isang trans tita na lumaban para sa karapatan naming lahat. Dito ko naramdaman na pamilya ang mga kasama ko, kahit iba iba kami ng kwento.” This year, everyone’s invited: drag queens, students, allies, titas, titos, and those who simply want to bask in the magic of a crowd that loves loudly.

As Pride PH’s Instagram calls out: “No gatekeeping. No fear. No hiding. See you!”, Lov3Laban 2025 is more than a festival. It’s a promise, a protest, and a triumphant homecoming for every Filipino who dreams of a world where they can live and love, out and proud. Tara, laban na!
